Avneet Kaur on her Rajasthan love story, 'BRB' energy & the viral Taylor Swift trend breaking the internet

The India 2030 Leadership Conclave 2026 celebrated some of the most influential young voices shaping culture today. Avneet Kaur, who received the Gen Z Icon Female award, had a quick and fun interaction that touched on travel, slang, and what she thinks is ruling the internet right now. She answered everything with the kind of ease that comes naturally to someone who is very much in their element.


On her favourite travel destination, Avneet did not have to think twice. Rajasthan. "I love Rajasthan completely," she said, before adding that she would genuinely love to go anywhere. But Rajasthan clearly holds a special place. It is one of those destinations that tends to do that to people, and Avneet is firmly in that camp.

When asked about her favourite Gen Z slang, she went with BRB. "I'll just be right back. It's okay," she said, laughing. Of all the terms she could have picked, she went with one of the oldest ones in the book. On what she thinks is the most popular Gen Z trend on the internet right now, Avneet pointed to the Ophelia trend inspired by Taylor Swift. "People are loving that song," she said. It has been all over social media, with people putting together energised dance numbers for the song. It is one of those trends that suddenly seemed to be everywhere, and Avneet seems very much here for it, and given the award she walked away with, her finger is clearly on the pulse.


As a Gen Z herself, when asked what she would tell others her age, she kept it simple. "Just live your life and stay happy. Follow your heart." It is the kind of advice that is easy to brush past, but coming from someone who has built a significant presence at a young age, it carries a little more weight than it might seem.
