Mona Singh on greener India, army roots and that one Gen Z word she swears by

Mona Singh picked up the Versatility Icon OTT award at the India 2030 Leadership Conclave 2026 and kept her interaction grounded and genuinely warm. She summed up her vision for India in four words, spoke about her army upbringing and love for travelling across the country, and closed with the one Gen Z term she actually knows. Delulu. Honestly, fair enough.
The India 2030 Leadership Conclave brought together some familiar and beloved faces from the world of cinema and OTT. Mona Singh, who picked up the Versatility Icon OTT award, had a warm and easy interaction that covered everything from her vision for India to the one Gen Z word she actually knows.
When asked what change she is most excited to see in India by 2030, Mona kept it short. "Cleaner, greener, prettier, smarter," she said. "Yeah, those are the changes I'm looking for." Four words that managed to cover a lot of ground without making a big deal of it.
On who she truly looks up to, she pointed to her parents and her sister. "They live their life with integrity, grace and a lot of courage," she said. "And that's what I want to take with me to 2030." She added that there are many people who inspire her, but these three are the ones she keeps coming back to.
Mona mentioned that her father was in the army, which meant the family travelled extensively across the country growing up. That showed clearly in her answer on favourite travel destinations. Rather than naming one place, she went through a whole list. The Northeast, Punjab, Kerala, Chennai. She spoke about each with equal warmth and did not bother picking a favourite. "My dad was in the army and we've travelled a lot," she said. "I love the Northeast, and I also like going to Punjab. And I also like South. Kerala and Chennai. It's beautiful." Growing up moving around India tends to do that to a person.
The Gen Z slang round saw her stumped on touch grass and rizz, both of which needed explaining. But just when it seemed like the round was going to be a clean sweep for the interviewer, Mona had one up her sleeve. "The only Gen Z term I guess I know is delulu," she said, which the interviewer absolutely loved. The Indiatimes team then threw in 6-7 for good measure, and that one stumped her too. But delulu was enough. She walked away from that round with her head held high.
At the India 2030 Leadership Conclave 2026, Mona Singh was exactly what you would want from an evening like this. Easy to talk to, genuine in her answers, and good fun throughout.
