The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office confirmed on Friday that Noel's remains were found a day earlier in Everman, a small city located near Fort Worth.

During a press conference, Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells revealed that Noel's mother, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, has now been indicted on a charge of capital murder and is expected to stand trial in connection with the child's death.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed additional evidence tied to the discovery or the circumstances surrounding Noel's death.

Cindy Rodriguez Singh case draws renewed attention after indictment

The case surrounding Cindy Rodriguez Singh had already gained nationwide attention long before the remains were found. Three years ago, Singh landed on the Federal Bureau of Investigation Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list after authorities said she fled to India with her husband and six children while Noel was noticeably absent from the trip.

Investigators later alleged that the timeline surrounding Noel's disappearance did not match Singh's statements to law enforcement. In August 2023, the FBI located and arrested Singh in India before extraditing her back to Texas as the investigation intensified.

Texas missing child investigation uncovered disturbing timeline

According to investigators, extended family members first alerted authorities after realizing Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez had not been seen since October 2022.

The situation escalated further in March 2023 when officers visited the family's Everman home following a welfare check request made by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Police later claimed that Cindy Rodriguez Singh falsely told officers Noel was staying with relatives in Mexico. Soon after that interaction with police, Singh allegedly left for India with the rest of her immediate family - excluding Noel.

The disappearance, conflicting statements, and sudden international travel quickly intensified suspicions surrounding the case.
