Cindy Rodriguez Singh case draws renewed attention after indictment
Investigators later alleged that the timeline surrounding Noel's disappearance did not match Singh's statements to law enforcement. In August 2023, the FBI located and arrested Singh in India before extraditing her back to Texas as the investigation intensified.

The situation escalated further in March 2023 when officers visited the family's Everman home following a welfare check request made by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Police later claimed that Cindy Rodriguez Singh falsely told officers Noel was staying with relatives in Mexico. Soon after that interaction with police, Singh allegedly left for India with the rest of her immediate family - excluding Noel.
