Did Avinash Agarwal's Donald Trump act save the first episode of India's Got Latent 2? Here's why fans can't stop talking about him

Yes, a contestant dressed as former US President Donald Trump somehow managed to hijack the entire conversation around the very first episode of India's Got Latent season 2. This did not stop there; many viewers even claimed that he was the only reason they could finish watching the episode.

As expected, the first episode of India's Got Latent Season 2 had all ingredients of a viral comeback. Samay Raina was back after months away from the spotlight.

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari were there to promote their upcoming film. The format had expanded a bit from the last time on YouTube to Netflix, and the expectations were sky-high. But here's the plot twist: as the episode progressed, viewers began focusing on one performer who mimicked US President Donald Trump, quickly becoming the most talked-about moment of the night.


And his name is Avinash Agarwal. And according to a large section of the internet, he absolutely stole the show.

Since the time episode dropped, netizens couldn't stop talking about Avinash Agarwal, and his name kept appearing again and again across the social media platforms.

Viewers called Avinash the highlight of the entire episode. While some even described him as "the only performer of the episode", others went even further, claiming he "saved the show".

Donald, the guy, saved the show. Is all of this latently boring? It was such a meh episode. Repetitive jokes. "Promotions, promotions and more promotions," one said.

"It was boring and lame except for the Trump guy; he was really good."

Some even said that the guy made the panellists nervous: "This guy was too good. He made everyone struggle to keep up with him."

Many praised his confidence, comic timing and his ability to roast the judges while staying in character. Others said his Trump accent was so convincing that it felt like they were watching a comedy special rather than a talent show performance.

Well, before becoming India's Got Talent's most viral contestant overnight, Avinash Aggarwal was already performing in the comedy circuit.

He is a stand-up comedian and corporate entertainer known for his solo show, Corporate Jungle. However, his appearance on India's Got Latent introduced him to a much larger audience.

While, on his Instagram, he even refers to himself as the "Indian Trump", a title that now seems to be on platforms, bringing thousands of new viewers to his profile. He has around 26k followers on Instagram, and he describes himself as 'Indian Trump' in his Insta bio.

What's interesting is that it wasn't just the audience who loved the act. Avinash received near-perfect scores from the panel. Avinash Solanki, Balraj Ghai and Alia Bhatt all awarded him 10 out of 10. Sharvari gave him 9.5, while Samay Raina also handed him a perfect score.


The judges clearly enjoyed the performance, but few could have predicted that it would end up overshadowing almost everything else from the episode.

Every season of India's Got Latent has produced memorable moments, but Season 2 may have already found its first breakout star.

While the episode was meant to mark Samay Raina's big return and feature some of Bollywood's biggest names, much of the online conversation has revolved around a comedian dressed as Donald Trump.
