Samay Raina's India's Got Latent season 2 is finally here after months of waiting, theories, controversies and speculations around "When is it coming back?" posts. India's Got Latent Season 2 has now arrived, with Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Ashish Solanki and Balraj Ghai joining him on the panel.

Well, when Samay Raina made the announcement about the return of India's Got Latent Season 2, fans had the same chaotic, unfiltered expectations that made Season 1 a viral sensation in no time. But ever since the first episode premiered on Saturday, many viewers were left wondering whether the show had changed too much.

The episode dropped simultaneously on Netflix and YouTube, marking a major upgrade for a show that began as a chaotic internet phenomenon. But while fans were excited to see Latent back on their screen, not everyone walked away impressed.

From awkward camera angles to heavily edited jokes, viewers have plenty to say about IGL Season 2

In fact, social media platforms, Reddit threads and YouTube comment sections quickly filled up with viewers sharing what they felt was missing from the new season. And surprisingly, the complaints weren't just about the jokes.

From strange camera work and excessive promotions to Samay's changed comedy style, fans have created a long list of reasons why they believe Season 2 doesn't feel like the Latent they fell in love with. The post was shared with a title, "Really Disappointed with a lot of things in the new season..."

"Why do the camera angles feel so weird?"

One of the biggest complaints wasn't even about the comedy.

Fans pointed out that the show's new camera setup feels very different from Season 1. Several viewers said the cameras seemed overly zoomed in, constantly switching between contestants and panellists without showing the complete atmosphere of the room.

A Reddit user summed up the frustration by saying they rarely got to see the audience, contestant and panel in a single frame, making the show feel less immersive.

"The camera angles – why the heck are the cameras so zoomed in... either on the panel or on the contestant... and not even a single time did we get to see the audience, the panel and the contestant in the same frame... it feels so off... Season 1's camera was way way way better than this," the post read.

"The jokes feel edited to death"

Another major criticism was the editing. Before the premiere, Samay had promised that the show would remain largely unchanged despite moving to Netflix. However, some fans felt the final cut was far more heavily edited than expected.

"Samay is not even censoring jokes; he is just cutting off whole things... I thought he would censor things like when he takes some big people's names or major curse words, but he is not. He is just cutting the whole parts, and it's disrupting the flow, like, one second they are saying something funny, then the next second a completely unrelated part comes because he just trimmed the funny part... That's bad."

According to viewers, entire conversations and punchlines appeared to be missing, creating abrupt jumps between moments.

"Samay doesn't feel like the same Samay"

Perhaps the most discussed criticism revolves around Samay Raina himself. Long-time fans believe the comedian's biggest strength was his spontaneity. His jokes often felt random, unfiltered and naturally funny rather than carefully constructed.

But according to some viewers, Season 2's version of Samay feels different. The post read, "He is not the laid-back Samay we had... Earlier his spontaneous jokes were like chill jokes, like the thought that comes in his mind (idk how to describe), but now it's like he is actively thinking to crack a joke all the time and saying ultra pro polished jokes."

Fans described his humour as more polished, more calculated and less spontaneous than before.

Too many promotions?

Another recurring complaint involved brand integrations and promotional segments. Several viewers felt the first episode spent too much time promoting projects rather than focusing on comedy.

Alia Bhatt's and Sharvari's appearance was meant to generate excitement, but some fans argued that the constant references to their upcoming film made the episode feel closer to a promotional event than an unpredictable comedy show.

Some viewers even described the episode as "more PR than comedy".

The panel felt under pressure

Another observation from fans was that the panel didn't seem as relaxed as before. Viewers said panellists appeared more focused on delivering punchlines than simply reacting naturally to contestants. "Everyone on the panel seems to have some sort of pressure to perform well... like Solanki... I love him, and he did crack a lot of good jokes... but like, the only time he was opening his mouth was to crack a joke. Earlier he also said random things and talked with a chill vibe... but now he does seem to have pressure considering how big Latent has become... and that's with everyone on the panel."

Where are the weird contestants?

One of the most unexpected complaints had nothing to do with the judges. Instead, fans missed the bizarre contestants. Season 1 became famous because it mixed genuinely talented performers with completely unpredictable people who often had no business being on stage in the first place.

That chaos created many of the show's funniest moments.

But Season 2's opening episode, however, featured contestants who appeared more polished and performance-ready, leading some viewers to compare it to a traditional talent competition rather than the wonderfully chaotic Latent experience they were expecting.

But not everyone agreed

Despite the criticism, it's worth noting that many fans still enjoyed the episode. Several viewers praised the production quality, guest lineup and individual performances, especially Avinash Aggarwal's viral Donald Trump act.

Not only that but one user also said, "Reddit has a habit of critising everything. I felt it was on far with every episode of Latent. There are some weird silences but that's fine coz it's just the start, they aren't in the flow of Latent. But apart from that what a great episode. I haven't laughed like that in months."

"I also love the show and find it funny," another added.

"Bruh pointed out these things bcz ts was present in previous season

Netflix should have had the raw samay n the bonus moments lambe hone chahiye the 1 st contestant was irrelevant," and more.
